Part of the series Tracing Lines:
Featuring grids lines and segments, these paintings explore the patterns in life cycles. They are inspired by the cyclical repetition across generations, creating an imperfect, yet connected storyline.
In this painting, I was interested in duality. The top is cozy and a little mysterious, with the dark tones and vivid oranges. It gives a sense of feeling very tiny compared to the natural surrounding. Like a bug inside of a garden, just doing his thing. The bottom, in contrast, feels so much more distinct, like a core moment. The jade green is strong and striking. The pink link that separates the two spaces is distinct, yet offers the opportunity for each space to communicate with the other.
